GIJOE doodles

If it weren't for [link], I probably would've never gotten into comics...as either a fan or as a job. It's as simple as that.

The Hasbro one-two punch of Joe and Transformers was for me, and others, the way we grew up in the '80s. The cartoons and the toys. Amazing to think back that they even advertised the comics on tv. Unbelievable!

I remember a friend of mine in grade school showed me his Joe comics and it just opened up a whole new world. The great Hama writing, those iconic Mike Zeck covers, and fantastic interiors with an engaging story. Great times back in those days.

Used to pick up the comics at a magazine shop downtown in a farmers market area that had various restaurants. Would chow down my food as quick as possible so I could run over, plunk down my 60 or 75 cents (jeez I'm old) and thrill to my haul of Joe, TF, and black & white ninja turtles comics.

Anyways...here's a batch of various characters all crammed onto the page. One a these days I'll do a better sendup of them, but here's some quick scribbles for starters.
