Joe Mad and Tim Townsend had a lot to do with me breaking into comics, in very direct and indirect ways. I had been sending in samples and hitting editors at conventions for a long time but getting nowhere. Tim offered to pass along my samples to his editor at Marvel...no guarantee that it would do anything but it would get into the editor's hands (which is always nicer than sending in a blind submission to the stacks of mail that comes into the company). Timing would have it that an issue of Wolverine needed some help on inks, and it was over penciler Roger Cruz. I just happened to have some Joe Mad samples I had inked in my submission....so the editor said it would be a nice fit. So there ya have it...a little networking, the right timing, and a little luck went a long way for breaking me in on my first major work.

As for this current piece...was a fun little thing to ink off of a low res pencil scan online. One of the game designs Joe did when he moved away from comics for awhile. Wanted to see what I could bring to Joe now, compared to what I did all those years ago.
